2016 Lunar New Year to last for 9 days

The Government has justed agreed with the proposal suggested by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs that will grant state employees nine days off for 2016 Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday. Accordingly, the official 2015 Tet holiday will begin on February 6 and end on February 14. This year, there is no need to exchange the days off as an uninterrupted holiday is automatically created. Visa fees for int’l tourists to fall sharply next month

From November 23, foreigners will pay US$25 for a single-entry visa and US$50 for a visa valid for three months or less when they visit Vietnam, according to a circular recently issued by the Ministry of Finance. These fees are down from US$45 and US$95 respectively, according to the ministry’s Circular No. 157/2015/TT-BTC. However, the circular says the fee for a long-term visa fee will remain unchanged but that for a long-term residence permit will be up. Vietnam to put railway e-ticket system into use on September 1

Railway passengers in Vietnam will be able to buy tickets through an online ticketing system that will begin operating at 2:00 am on September 1, the Vietnam Railways Corporation (VRC) said on Wednesday. Through this e-system, passengers can book seats, buy and print tickets, pay for their tickets and receive e-invoices anywhere and anytime, without having to visit a railway station, the VRC said.
